nokia n97 mini vs n97

n97_mini
The N97 was a good-looking phone but failed to impress. So, expectations from the N97 Mini weren't very high. But it surprised us. It packs in a 3.2 inch touch display and a slide out QWERTY keypad that juts out at a 45 degree angle to make the phone more comfortable to use. The homescreen allows addition of widgets as per needs and the Ovi Store gives access to third party applications. However, it is not easily available everywhere and we fear this capable device might go out of circulation in the coming months.

Nokia X5-01_celular x5 nokia

Nokia_X5_01
There were a number of very good music phones launched during the year, including the Apple iPhone 4, Nokia X5 and the Sony Ericsson W8. But what impressed us about the Nokia x5 was its simplicity and the outstanding sound. The X5 has a dedicated music key placed below the display. It has a Playlist DJ for profiling songs as per the user's mood and a 'Spin' feature for changing tracks randomly. The 950 mAh battery was good enough to take you through a day of great music playback, whether over the speakers or headphones.

Tech Specs:

2.36-INCH NON-TOUCH DISPLAY; 5 MP CAMERA; 200 MB INTERNAL MEMORY, 2 GB MEMORY CARD; MEMORY EXPANDABLE TO 32 GB; FM RADIO, MUSIC PLAYER. 36, WI-FI; 129 GM.

Nokia 700 701

Nokia_701
Nokia lovers who have never experienced any other OS will love this device. Like the C-7, the 701 too has a metal body with curved edges and a 3.5-inch capacitive display. The interface has undergone a change as it now allows us to add different sized icons to the home-screen. And all the applications are placed in the main menu, instead of in an application folder. Unlike older Nokia phones, this one has a 1 GHz processor that speeds up the time the device needs to handle demands like multitasking, browsing, email, downloading apps, etc. With most other phones increasing the megapixel count, the Nokia 701 too has an 8 MP camera. But in default mode, images are captured at 6 MP resolution. This phone is NFC-enabled and allows users to exchange data between two NFC-enabled devices.

Tech Specs:
3.5-inch display;

8MP camera;

8 GB memory, expandable to 32 GB;

3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth;

131 gm; 1300 m Ah battery.

Anna Update

Anna? who? in the tech world, "she" is Symbian Anna, one of Nokia's latest software updates that further refines the Symbian A3 platform.  Anna available for download on high-end Symbian devices such as the Nokia N8, NOKIA C7, Nokia C6-01, and Nokia E7. we take a quick look at what else the update has to offer on our N8 handset.
Anna Look
Anna comes with a set of redesigned icons that bring a fresh look to the Symbian interface.
Browser Tweaks
To further streamline the Internet experience on Symbian Anna phones, there have been changes made to the built-in browser (v7.3). Users can now easily make quick changes from a comprehensive shortcut menu. Note the back button at the bottom - this allows for easier browsing.
qwerty  keyboard N8
Part of Anna's improvements is the inclusion of a virtual QWERTY keyboard, both in portrait and landscape mode. Nonetheless, users still have the option to fall back onto the old school alphanumeric keyboard if they need to.
3D Video Mode and Check-ins on Ovi Maps
Anna also features refinements made to an enhanced Ovi Maps(v3.06) . These include better search functionality, new public transport routes and a 3D view mode. From here, you can also check-in to favorite geo-social network sites like Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter.

Anna update for Nokia C7, C6-01, E7 and N8

NOKIA N8 - If you are looking for a camera phone, the Nokia N8's 12-megapixel sensor and Xenon flash will surely please.

Nokia C7 - The NOKIA C7 is what we consider a good phone for multimedia purposes as it features a decent 8-megapixel sensor, an adequate 3.5-inch screen AMOLED screen and an internal 8GB memory. Also, it is the only one in the gang to come with built-in NFC capabilities.

Nokia C6-01 - The C6-01 will appeal to those who prefer a balance between size and performance considering that it comes with a small 3.2-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel sensor and a compact build.

Nokia E7 - Looking for a business phone? The Nokia E7's full QWERTY keyboard will be an important factor to consider.

Nokia X7 _ if nokia X7 > X6,X5,X3

 The X7 is Nokia's first full touch smartphone.The X7 runs a new version of Symbian, called Anna brings much-awaited changes. New better-looking circular icons, faster web browsing (with Flash) and a portrait QWERTY keyboard.the X7 looks different with its angular design. Grills on the corners add to the design element (the bottom grills actually hide the speakers). The non-removable back cover has resulted in the need for SIM and memory card slots on the side.The volume control and camera key are on the right panel with a 4-inch capacitive display dominating the front. Start the phone and you are prompted for the Nokia account details logs into all the Nokia services. Similar to Symbian 3, the homescreen here is divided into three customisable windows.An icon at the right bottom gave access to a plenty of features like bookmarks, windows, history, feeds, send link, settings, etc. It comes with two HD games, Asphalt 5 and Galaxy on Fire. The gaming experience was good and more games can be downloaded from Ovi Store.don't forget Ovi was one of the first platforms to get Angry Birds (after iOS, natch).

Nokia's cameras have been hard to beat for a long time,the phone has an 8 MP camera but with a fixed focus. It also has a dual LED flash and features such as face detection and 720p videos,It supports expandable memory up to 32 GB and an 8GB card comes with phone.Unfortunately, and unlike the N8, there's no HDMI-out for watching them back on your TV.The screen is AMOLED, meaning it should be bright enough for the odd movie or game, but with a resolution of 640x360 it's not going to challenge the iphone's 960x640 Retina Display.

Nokia Lumia 800_lmia800

The Nokia Lumia 710 and Nokia Lumia 800 took center stage at Nokia World 2011.
The 800 packs a pretty decent 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. I like that the headphones port is positioned at the very top left; it provides a better in-pocket fit for the headphones cable than a central top port placement does. Media playback is pretty solid thanks to an FM radio; the Zune software and Nokia Music, although you’re limited to 16GB of on-board storage, with the lack of a microSD slot not impressing us much. The Lumia 800 packs a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen at 480×800. It looks pretty good, it has to be said, largely thanks to the bright tones of the WP7 platform. It’s not as crisp and clear as the likes of the iPhone’s Retina display.

Nokia N9 MeeGo Smartphone

The N9's colourful shell is, on the front at least, unspoiled by old-fashioned buttons. Instead, navigation is performed entirely through gestures on the 3.9in touch screen. Just tap and swipe to unlock the phone, and a smooth slide from the side will cycle through its three home .

The N9 runs MeeGo, a Linux-based operating system that rose from the ashes of Moblin and Maemo. Unlike Symbian, Nokia's staple, it's designed with touch screens in mind, and it looks rather lovely in operation.

Nokia has taken a leaf out of Apple's book and fitted the N9 with an iPhone-style MicroSIM slot.  the N9 is made from one piece of polycarbonate, which Nokia reckons means better reception, better voice quality.

the N9  It uses the short-range wireless tech, not just to share content with other NFC-enabled gadgets,

Nokia phones are known for their cameras, and the N9 will hopefully be no exception. It shoots 8MP stills and 720p video at 30f ps through a wide-angle Cart Zeiss lens. Unlike the N8. though, there's no HDMI-out.

NOKIA X2-01

Nokia X2-01 slim and sleek-looking phone with a high-gloss finish on the front and a red (or azure, gray, silver, and lilac) matte, smudge-free finish at the back?Its minimalist design also includes the battery charger and 3.5mm headphone jack on top, USB and microSO card slot on the right side and a rather small battery and SIM card slot just behind the back cover. this phone allows for a much brighter screen and more intuitive icons. You can view photos and web pages on a wide 2.4-inch color display as well as customize your phone by changing themes and icons.

with the Nokia Ovi Store, you can personalize as well as customize your X2-01 for free.give off a lovely first impression but you may also begin to see some not-so-attractive qualities such as the flimsy plastic-ky back cover, VGA camera at the back, and yes,a tightly spaced QWERTY keyboard, This phone also doesn'tinclude WiFi connectivity which really just dampens its potential to become a truly smart smartphone.

Yet for its price, you still get a fairly decent smartphone that can keep you mobile and in-touch with friends through social networks plus a battery that can last a good 1/2  to two days with normal use. It will also keep you entertained with music downloads, not to mention, the one-click access to songs as well as your choice FM radio station. One-click access also applies to your email,chat, and social networks. chat, and social networks.  who simply likes to talk and text with their phone, the Nokia X2-01 is a luxurious choice.

NOKIA E6

Nokia has changed loyalties from Symbian operating system to Windows Phone but it is still rolling out smartphones on its earlier platform. The next in line is again an enterprise phone, the Nokia E6. Touted as a combination of a full touch display along with a QWERTY keypad, it comes loaded with Microsoft Outlook for handling emails. Customisable homescreen, social networking for staying connecting, other downloadable applications and free turn by turn voice navigation are a few highlights of this phone.

E7 NOKIA

With E7 nokia again shows it excel a at hardware design.E7 has a lot in com-mon with N8,not the least the overall design concept.You find the same aluminum body,plastic end caps. and curved design language. It's a good-looking smartphone that feels high quality.

This handset combines all of Nokia's current strengths and weaknesses. Made from anodised aluminium, it's a well-constructed, chunky slider wich a full QWERTY.

Those elements have a reassuringly old-fashioned feel to them.

Giving less of a warm, nostalgic gIow are a 680 MHz processor that's noticeably slower than rivals, giving sluggish muIti-touch, and an operating system that feels archaic next to Android, iOS or WP7- Symbian is not a pleasure to use, and the range of apps at the Ovi Store remains of lower quality and quantity than at Android Market or the Apple App Srore.

The four-inch screen's resolution is only 64ox36o, so movies lack the detail of the Incredible S or iPhone 4. Being AMOLED, it does produce excellent contrast areas and off-angle viewing, however.

Nokia has kept the microUSB port, to which you can connect USB flash to access files from, another functionality inherited from the N8. This port is now abo the only way to charge the E7 since Nokia removed the classical 2mm charging plug.

The camera is a very respectable 8-megapixel, which also supports HD 720 recording.Although not as detailed and sharp as photos from E7 are still competitive with most other phones. The main difference is the lack autofocus in the E7 and the big lens and sensor in the N8, which makes photos and video stand out in terms of quality.

However with its other deficiencies,including a battery that needs charging every night, the E7 is hard ro recommend to anyone other than die-hard Nokia fans.

the faster Bluetooth 3.0.

Nokia is facing some strong competition in the mid-range in the form of decently priced Android- powered devices.

Nokia C7, of about 3.5" Capacitive touch-screen, integrates the power of Symbian OS 3. it is a slim touch screen phone with three customizable home screens and fully integrated social networks.The build quality struck us as really good and the device feels very solid in hand. It’s a 680 MHz ARM 11 CPU that did a good job of keeping things smooth.Given that amount of functionality, its battery life of 1½ to two days is above average. The C7 makes use of an eight megapixel camera with auto-focus (sans the usual Carl Zeiss optics) that captures really good quality videos in high-definition (720p).
